California woman identified among those killed in Maui fires (FOX40.COM) -- A California woman has been identified among the victims of the West Maui Wildfire that began on Aug. 8, according to the Maui Police Department. Theresa Cook, 72, was among eight people identified by the Maui Police Department on Tuesday to have died in the devastating fire. 1 Killed in Semi-Truck Accident on 210 Freeway [San Fernando, CA] One Pronounced Dead after Big-Rig Collision near Hubbart StreetSAN FERNANDO, CA (August 21, 2023) – Early Thursday morning, one victim was killed in a semi-truck accident on 210 Freeway.The incident occurred around 3:58 a.m., on the westbound lanes of the freeway near Hubbard Street.For reasons under investigation, the driver of a vehicle struck the back of a semi-truck. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced one victim dead at the scene.At this time, authorities have not yet identified the deceased victim.Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.The San Fernando officials continue to investigate the circumstances that led up to the incident.
